Beading Tip - Hiding and Securing Your Knots!

We get many emails in a day asking for advice or
just with general "how do you" questions!

One of the questions that comes up a lot is about
the securing of the knot when you have to attach
another length of beading stringing material.

As we suggest the best knot to use is the
square knot, its very effective and should
be all that you need to secure the 2 pieces
together and then you hide the knot inside
the bead.

Some beader's like to add one extra step
to be sure that the knot doesn't come undone
therefore having your project fall apart.

Glue can be applied to the knots for an extra
secure hold. Use a pin or toothpick to apply a small
amount to seal a knot, being careful not to get glue
on any beads when you are tucking the knot inside.

There are many glue products on the market,
so before you choose one make sure it can be used
for this purpose. There is also glue that is available
just for beads which is available at your local craft store,
so you might want to check that out as well!

If you have any questions that we can help you with, or
any beading hints or tips that you would like to share with
everyone just send us an email we would love to hear from
you at any time!

You can send all your questions and hints and tips to:

Sorting Your Beads!

With Valentines Day fast approaching Jenny has
been designing some awesome things and I sat
down to bead them up for Bead Shak.

With red being the dominant color for Valentines Day
I got out my bags of red and then some of the
bags of red that I hadn't opened as yet and
saw that the reds were definitely not the same
in color.

I had written about this subject before a couple
of years ago but wanted to write about it again.

If I had started to bead my project with these
reds the variation on the red would have shown up
and that wouldn't have been good. Even a slight
difference in colors will show up in the end and
take away from the look of your project or even
look like you have made a mistake in your beading.

As I had suggested before the best thing to do
is store your beads by manufacturer that way
the colors should all be the same.

White is particularly bad for color difference
between manufacturers. They vary from snow
white to white with a bit of a gray tinge to them.

So again when you bring home your beads the
best thing to do with them in store them in bags
with the original bag they came in so that you will
know who made them, the color number and also
the size of the beads, for quick reference as less
frustration so that you don't have to go to the
trouble of sitting down and wasting valuable time
sorting out your beads!

------------------------------------------------

Valentines Day is a day where you can tell that
special someone how you really feel about them!

The traditional gifts for this day are flowers and
boxes of chocolates among other things!

This year why not gift an extra special gift, one
that can be brought out from year to year to help
relive that very special moment you received that
very special gift!

We have a large variety of bead projects for you,
for every skill level, from the quick and easy to
the more time required projects!

All our bead projects are professionally designed by
Jenny, the graphs are clear and easy to read, a materials
list is included in your pattern and hints and tips to help you
make your project that one of a kind it should be!

Free instructions are also available and we are here to
help you out at all times, we are just an email away!

Below is just a small example of what is available for
you to bead for Valentines Day!

Just click on the rotating bead projects to

be taken to another page for many more gift
giving ideas!
